Bout of Books Read-a-Thon & Animation Updates 3

Today I filmed a quick To-Be-Read video for Bout of Books 17. I am currently reading The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma. It’s interesting and passing the time as my video renders. You can watch the TBR down below if you want. Since I am updating here as well as Twitter & Youtube I’ll post their blurb below. For most current updates Twitter will be the best, but if time allows I will vlog.

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 22nd and runs through Sunday, August 28th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 17 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

Animation bootcamp is going well, still behind and only have till Friday, but progress is progress. I’m aiming for at least one more project done before the critique closes. I think that’s reasonable considering I have an eye appointment on Wednesday. I never get any reading or video stuff done while my eyes are dilated. I am still delaying the Ogallala video because of edit time. Lack of tripod really makes everything difficult. Also I need to plan videos out a bit more. Editing the TBR video went very quick because I had a plan and idea for the structure…but the camping video not so much. Learning on the go.

Goals this week is get the bootcamp as close to finished as possible, and start animating my selfi animation. That has been sitting on the back burner for way too long, and I could benefit from actually finishing one of my personal animations. I just came up with another idea for an animation, so I’ll be adding that to my list of eventual short animated films to make. I really love coming up with these ideas, but starting to get too many!

This concludes my Monday Life updates. TBR is below for viewing. Talk to you guys soon!

Wrap Ups & New AAR Song ‘DGAF’

Finished my wrap up video for Booktube-a-thon. Includes the spine poetry & TBR lettering I never posted.

Since that’s done I’m now currently distracted by the new All American Rejects Song DGAF.

A Very Dan Brown Themed Trip | Booktube-a-Thon 2016 | Day 6

My book spine poetry video is coming soon. I’ve been trying to balance reading and getting challenges in for the day of rather than backtracking. I really do want to finish that one though, so I should be up soon. Instead I did today’s challenge which is Literary Book Travels. Basically pick literary locations you would want to travel to. I had so many different places I wanted to go, but for the sake of sanity just ended up picking Dan Brown’s mystery books. He has so many different places that are rich in history as his main locations, and they’re all places I want to go to. If I had more time would have illustrated some places and maybe animated them. There’s also the potential to create some travels based around fictional worlds like Narnia & Hogwarts. I’ll have to leave that for another week though. Till then I need to read more, only one more day left of this readathon!

April Fools

When you get home at midnight it’s best just to find something quick to discuss than it is to try to edit two vlogs and then post them. -sigh- I’m already behind on VEDA and it’s only just begun. :c I’ll have to readdress my strategy for vlog editing tomorrow! Probably means sacrificing some sleep so I can vlog in the mornings.

Instead of my vlogs I’m going to redirect you to some great April Fools pranks from yesterday! I hope you enjoyed yesterday! I know I did.

This one has all of the Google pranks.

Last NM Road Trip Vlog

Yay finished with the road trip vlog. I still have some other things I want to make related to the trip, but the vlog is done!

I had fun. Learned a few things from this past week when it comes to vlogging here’s 5 of them.

Lesson one: Do not vlog with gum in my mouth. Really distracting and gross.
Lesson two: Pay attention to where your fingers are.
Lesson three: I need to be more energetic while talking to the camera. That’s probably because I’m camera shy. Working on that.
Lesson four: Always make sure you have enough space to record.
Lesson five: I need to invest in a tripod. And a better camera. Vlogging on my iphone is a little hard because of the limited space I have.

I have plans to do VEDA. In the meantime I have other things to work on to prep for the upcoming month, like backing up my computer and cleaning up my files. I have a lot of files I do not need on here. :/ Till tomorrow, here’s the last vlog.

I also have a playlist if you want to watch the entire vlog series, or if you want to catch up.

Hiking & Crawling Through the Twilight Zone – Road Trip Vlog 5

This is my vlog from the other day. I’m still editing yesterday’s vlog, but I’ll be caught up soon here. Just been a bit tired from the vacation. We packed in a lot of fun this past week, and now I have to get caught up on some personal projects as well as prep for the upcoming week. Here’s the vlog. Hope you enjoy, I’m having a lot of fun editing videos again.

Ojo Caliente – Road Trip Vlog 4

We went down to Ojo Caliente for today. Was an interesting day going through a mud bath and enjoying hot springs with rocks in the bottom. I had a relaxing day and didn’t film much because water vs cameras equals bad. Hope you enjoy the timelapses I made of our trip there and back though. I’m really having fun with them.

I’m thinking I might do VEDA (Vlog Every Day April) now that I’ve got a bit of a format down, although will be changing it up eventually. I’m finding it difficult to get time to myself to really have more conversational topic vlogs. I’ll likely change to that format when I get home since I work at home and don’t go out too much.

Enjoy!

A Soup Bowl of Coffee – NM Road Trip Vlog 3

Three days into vlogging and I’m already feeling guilt that I haven’t filmed every single second of my day, but then again… The nice thing about this is that I am mastering my editing skills. Getting a little faster at the edits and figuring out what I like or don’t like style wise. I’m excited to challenge myself in this new medium. I know that once I get home that my vlogs won’t be filled with as many timelapses and jerky pans (I don’t have a tripod, sorry folks :c), and I’ll have to work on my skills at taking to the camera. So tomorrow I’m going to try to work on some messages and themes rather than just journal my day. There’s so many moments for me to elaborate that I have yet to take, and I know that I should. So tomorrow I’m going to work on some more in depth topics of discussion.

Hope you enjoy today’s vlog of the trip!

Also if you’re even watching or reading these thanks you! I appreciate it! ❤

Sleeping Disease at 40 MPH – Road Trip Vlog 1

Practicing those timelapse skills today. I’m really in love with watching Casey Neistat’s videos so I thought it was time to test vlogging. I want to make other types to videos, but I have to start somewhere, so vlogging a trip seems like the best idea. Hope that you like this. I’ll have another one up tomorrow.
